It's November...yikes!  Hard to believe, but it's fun to see the season's change.  There is always something to be amazed at when you really look at Mother Nature.

I have a simple, little shabby project that will be on the Glue Arts blog tomorrow.  The sponsored manufacturer is "Die Cuts With a View", or DCWV as scrapbookers know them.  This project uses their Lady Couture Paper Stack with Gloss. 


There will be a supply list and some simple instructions up with more photos tomorrow at the Glue Arts blog.  I tried to capture the glossy embossiness of the papers, but it was hard! ;-)



Those chipboard pieces that I used for the project are from Maya Road.  Individual pieces from a couple of their Albums(Keyhole & Home.)  I have to say that if it had not been for the Maya Road chipboard, I was lost on what to make..., so thank you Maya Road for your wonderful product.  Love it all!

The wire trim is made from 20 gauge black wire.  I looped it around a finger then cut to add to the backside of the chipboard with Glue Arts hot glue gun.  I always jab my fingers and end up bleeding when I work with wire, but I think that the effect was worth it.

I want to share a couple of photos of my son, Cole's wedding.  He married the sweetest girl.  We love them both so much!


As you can see, it was very casual... an outdoor ceremony by the lake at Camp Patterson with the reception and dance to follow.  It was lovely and sweet and created a bunch of happiness all around.


I made all of the decorations and the bouquets.  I had a special friend who helped so so much with the flowers too, making the boutineers and helping my sister and another friend with vases for the tables that consisted of zinnia's, dahlia's, billy balls, and cabbage roses.

I bought large lanterns for months and painted them white and distressed them up.  I made fabric pennant banners for the ceiling in the lodge where the dance was held and for the ceremony site and miscellaneous other places.  It was so fun!




They lit sparklers and exited the ceremony to the Johnny Cash song, "Ring of Fire"...  "Love is a burning thing... and it makes a firey ring..."  It was so cute and again, fun!  Their love truly is like a burning ring of fire in so many ways.

A couple of October projects

Almost too late, but will share them anyway!  Fall is my favorite time of the year and it seems to be passing all too quickly.  Here are a couple of projects made for Glue Arts this month.

Made with Core dinations textured cardstocks.  I love the sanded and distressed look created with this cardstock.


And you can never go wrong with a bit of Ranger Distress Crackle paint in "Rock Candy" form.  I love it!  There is also some BasicGrey Fabric Posies, Melissa Frances Fall Stickers and chipboard Backdrop piece, and a Maya Road chipboard bird.  I did just a little cutting to make the bird look more like a blackbird...just a little :-)

This countdown chalkboard was soooooo fun to make.  I used a Creative Imaginations clipboard and painted it with chalkboard paint that you can buy at a craft or home improvement store.  Added lots of Authentique patterned papers and elements.

The chipboard banner pieces are Maya Road and so is the tag covered with patterned paper.  Chipboard adds such a nice texture to nay project.  It adds depth and creates interest.

The acrylic spider web stamps are from Tattered Angels that I stamped directly onto the chalkboard then added glitter embossing.

I added wire and staples along one edge to rustic it up a bit and add more texture.  Again, all of the stickers and paper labels are from Authentique.  The glitter used is from Pink Paislee--my favorite!

We are coming upon my very favorite crafting season...


Yep!  Winter and Christmas!!  I actually made this in August, again for Glue Arts using "Paper Smooches" acrylic stamps along with some awesome BasicGrey papers and sticker.

Of course you need to sparkle up those snowmen after stamping and painting in the details... I always use Martha Stewart Fine Clear Glitter for my winter projects.  Goes a long way too.

Well, I no longer have wedding on the brain because my son's wedding was Septmeber 24th.  It was wonderful and sweet and perfect for the two of them.  I will post some photos soon. 

Hopefully now more of my days are open for creating and doing a better job of keeping up with Design Team responsibilities.  That is my goal!  I do have one other tiny, sweet, little thing that may come into play in early March though.  My daughter is having a baby...A BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!

This little hat is available at " Beautiful Photo Props" and as soon as I know if she is having a boy or a girl, I'm ordering one.  Or maybe I should order now... one pink and one blue so that I'm safe!!  Now don't you all go and buy them up before I can get one;-)

Playing Catch up...

As usual.  But there's some good stuff here to share that I made using Glue Arts Adhesive products.  Every month with Glue Arts brings new manufacturer sponsorships so it is always different and  exciting.

Clear Scraps sent some Clear albums and I used the large tag to make a door knob greeting.  The papers are from BasicGrey... some of my favorites that they've ever done.

With wedding on the brain here (because my son, Cole is getting married in September) I created a wedding card box.  My intentions were for it to be used at a wedding for guests to put cards into, but Gluegirl Julia saw it as a wedding card keepsake box...which is a great idea! 

 

 
I''ve been experimenting with lots of different kinds of paper & fabric flowers lately.  It's been fun to see what I want to try next.  I really liked how this big garden style rose turned out.  See the Glue Arts Blog post here for more information: http://gluearts.blogspot.com/2011/06/with-this-ring.html

Finally I created these using my favorite Glue Arts Adhesives and Kaiser Craft supplies and a whole bunch of other things too.
 

 
I just love the vintage image of the little girl.  She's so sweet. 
 
And these two kissing babies is adorable.  I've had it for awhile but changed it up in Photoshop with paint.  I actually painted the little girl image too.  Both were originally black and white.
 
This image is of my grandma when she was about 18 years old.  I'm willing to share these images if anyone would like to use them for their artwork.  Painted or in the original black and white. (Grandma's is only available in the color version.)  Email me if you're interested.

May...finally!

I've been waiting for May and not very patiently either, but it's finally here and now it's time to get out and work in the yard and plant a garden.  I am so ready!  Love digging into the dirt and hoping something will grow.

This year I don't get to just experiment with gardening.  This year it's serious because I am growing flowers for my son, Cole's wedding on September 24.  Hopefully I won't be a nervous wreck every time it storms.  I may have to ask all of my friends and fellow paper crafter's to pray for the flowers once in awhile!  Never hurts, right?!! :-)

I spent a few months over the winter going through Seed Catalogs looking for the perfect apricot colored Dahlia that his fiance wants for the bouquets.  I think that I found it!  If you ever need Dahlia tubers or seeds you should visit Swan Island Dahlia's on the internet.  They have every kind imaginable.  The rest of the seeds for the centerpieces, etc I found at Thompson and Morgan Seeds.
The have a great selection and a very informative site for what flowers to get to suit your needs.

Like I always say.....

.....time flies!!!!  I must have too much on my plate or I am really, really slow compared to others because I don't feel like I accomplish as much as other scrappers/crafters.  But, I made it here today for a little catch up.

Anybody in the mood for spring?  Me too!  It's been a long winter so I made these pinwheels for the Glue Arts blog using my Sizzex Big Shot machine.  The pinwheels are a die cut also from Sizzex as are the flowers in the centers.  These were posted last week to the blog if you want to see some close ups and get the supply list and instructions.
 

 
The solid colors are Glue Arts "Accent-It-All" vinyl and the papers are from BasicGrey.  They add the perfect fun little boost of color for spring.

 
 
Another Glue Arts blog project using the "Accent-It-All" vinyl.  This time I cut bunnies from the white vinyl and also made a ruffley trim with it.  There will be a post soon with the supplies and instructions included.
 
It was fun to add some stitching to my handmade fabric flowers.  I love to do hand stitching and wish that I had more time to do it.  It's one of those things that seem more likely to be a treasure to someone some day because fabric and stitching lasts almost forever and is timeless. 

 
So that is my quick post for today.  I am off to edit some more photos of a happy engaged couple.  I love taking photos of people in love.

Another March post & giveaway winner

I'm late, but at least I made it back before March was over.  It was an eventful week here last week, but not in a good way.  It seems that all of the gloomy, cold, unlike spring days, go along with the sorrowful thing that happened.  Something that you can't change but you live over and over in your mind imagining a different outcome... wondering why and praying for those that were close... in my mind it doesn't make sense and it eats up the time in my day and brings too many sleepless nights. 

I wish that I could turn off my brain and rest.  The only thing that I can do is to remind anyone who will listen, is to take whatever opportunity that you might have to thank a public servant.  They get paid too little and and don't get enough praise for what they for our communities. 

Life goes on, so I had to move forward trying to be productive.  Mostly because I have to be.  It's those commitments that keep me going otherwise it would be so easy to do nothing but worry and talk too much about the sadness and loss that so many are feeling.  All I want to do is spend more time just hanging with everyone that I love so that those moments never end, but reality makes me get back to work.  And I am grateful for that.

 
So, here is my newest project.  Done out of necessity, but made with hope for everything that is real and wonderful.  For the Glue Arts Blog and My Little Shoebox.  Thanks to both for the amazing product and for the faith that you put in me to represent!

 
I haven't made a layout in some time.  I actually had to pull out some of my old layouts for inspiration.  Have been feeling so uninspired creatively as of late.  I wish that I had done better on this, but am glad for what it is.  The springy, happy "Home Tweet Home" collection by My Little Shoebox is perfect for this photo of cutie pie, Briah.  This was from a shoot done with her, her mommy and new daddy-to-be late last summer.  Oh how I wish that we had just a bit of that green grass and warm air right about now!

 
If you go to the Glue Arts blog, there are instructions and a supply list for the layout.  I thought that the flowers turned out cute and added some dimension to the page.  I love the U-Cut-It 8.5" x 11" Foam for popping up a photo and used it also to die cut the larger flower.  It's a really great product and you'll never have to worry about it falling off of your page or any other project because it sticks like crazy.

I sometimes forget to give credit to AccuCut for the flower die cuts that I turn to over and over.  They have really great dies to work with.
