Finally I stop in to say something... and it's to recycle? Yeah, we do our share at our house but I like it even better when I discover that I can also do it to make something fun and pretty.
The theme over at the Glue Arts blog has been recycling so I thought of those cute Prima Flowers that have printed words on them that you can use color mists on. I love those! So how about if you make some of your own using newpaper?
You can use them for so many things...altered art and mini books or even use them to add a touch of spring to home decor pieces.
If you'd like to kow how to make the flowers go to the Glue Arts blog for instructions and photos. All that you'll need is newspaper, scissors, pencil, Glimmer Mist, and adhesive.
SInce I have been "missing" for awhile, I thought that I should do a blog "Giveaway". Another example of a bit of recycling is on the garland that I made in February....
Hearts are made from scrapbook papers and the flowers are recycled from old dressmakers tissue. They are strung onto black cotton string and I think that the garland is about 6 feet long. If you would like a chance to win it, just comment on this post until March 24. I will draw a name of the winner and post sometime late in the day on the 24th or early the 25th. Good luck to anyone who would want it!
Thanks for stopping by!
Linda

The way people learn and enjoy and retain knowledge is with a tactile object. So many people are visual that when they remember a favorite story or a favorite moment, they can actually picture that page, that picture, the feel of the paper, the font— it's a piece of art. Books are a piece of art and they're never going away. They're always going to be amazing gifts and amazing friends. They are so great to share and reuse. http://youtu.be/cY3qY3kCwZo

I enjoy recycling! And have tried to make these flowers out of an old newspaper or book and they turned out great. I placed them on top of a wrapped gift. The liked it so much that they still have the paper flowers.
