I'm such a dork. ;-) I get so excited about paper and stuff. Stuff to create with that is, so I had to pop in to show you the Melissa Frances product that is now hitting the stores.
I love it because it is so vintage looking and just perfect for creating something nostalgic.
I made this piece using as many of the new products that I could fit on it!
The base is from one of Melissa's "Bingo Albums". This album is so cool. Lots of pages (10 I think, but am too lazy to run downstairs and look in my supplies to count.) They are thick too. Way thicker than other chipboard books or diecuts out there.
Did you notice the pink bottle brush tree? Yep, that is Melissa's also. You get 3 different sizes in a package and they are already decorated with the silver balls and the snow. They are also available in an ivory color. Too awesome!
The silver tinsel comes on a cute little wooden spool--reminds me of old bobbins that I have seen in antique shops.
The stars are a combination of the original Glitter Stars from Melissa's line (which I added a little ink distressing and some Mica flakes to. The cardstock stars and the pink rhinestones are from the Attic Collections line.
Last but certainly not least is the Crepe Paper that Melissa has added to her fun vintage collection. I used the blue (the package contains ivory, pink, green, and blue) to layer a gathered edge along the bottom of the art piece and also to make the 2 flowers. Heaven!!!!
I seriously think that I told Melissa that I loved her when she was tellig me on the phone about the new releases above! So embarrassing...lol. Oh btw, she doesn't consult with me about new product--we just happened to be talking about a project that I was working on for her. But...she can call me and talk about her products any old time, because they are to.die. for. ;-)
Ahhh, there.... now I have shared and I feel so much better. Don't you want it all?
***********************************************************************
I'm still working on the last of my tradeshow projects. This week is Pink Paislee week! If you click HERE you will get a little sneek peek of the new stuff. I think that I will be able to share my creations around the 2o something-ish. ;-)
Other than that I have been trying to get outside whenever I can. It has been upper 70's here and for me...that is about perfect.
When I was outside a couple of days ago, I noticed that one of our backyard birdhouses is hosting some birdy love for the second round this summer.
How sweet is that? Can you see the baby bird in the house with its mouth open? :-) Do you know how hard it is to get a clear image of a bird feeding its young? Well, for me anyway. I've never seen so much shaking and stuffing and quivering to put some food in a little ones mouth! They have been fun to watch.
Edited: Since a couple of you commented on the "hearts" in the photo background--that was intentional. It's a little photography trick to manipulate the light. You can do this by using a low aperture then making a shape in cardstock and placing it on your camera lens sort of as a lens hood. The light shadows in the blurred background are called bokehs. Normally they would be round because of the round shape of the lens, but adding a different shape for the light to reflect off of creates the desired shape.

One more thing! I want to share a little giveaway of some new product with a lucky someone. Tell me what you think of the Melissa Frances goodies that I've shown you and I'll be back in a few days to post the winner's name.
Don't forget to pop on over to The Melissa Frances Blog when you can, because it is always so pretty over there. Great projects and inspiration and they are always on the lookout for someone who wants to have their own project featured on the blog. It may just be YOU!!
Stay happy!
Linda

I'm in love with the products, especially that little pink bottle brush tree. My Godmother had a collection of bottle brush trees that she decorated with when I was a little girl and I've always thought they were the cutest things. Now I can have some of my own to embellish projects with - Can't wait until I see them in the store!
