So, I have been MIA for almost 2 weeks. When I looked at my last blog post, I couldn't believe that it had been that long! So what have I been doing, you wonder? Lots of Design team stuff and one of my favorite things to do in the Fall -- nesting. You know the feeling. You're spending a little more time in the house, the sun goes down earlier and it's cooler so you have that urge to spruce up the house and make things cozy. I brought out the Fall decorations and tucked some golden berries, leaves, and twigs about the house.
I just love berries and twigs. Then come Christmas I can replace them with greens.
I went shopping too for a couple of pumpkins that I wanted to stack and put in a small urn on my back porch. My sweet friend, Gayle, helped me pick out these 2 for that. Then I drilled 3/4" holes in the big one and have white lights inside.
I also added some Mums and pumpkins to my front pots and a big pumpkin and red leaves to my birdbath that my Dad made for me.
Speaking of my talented Dad and my friend Gayle, they both had a hand in helping me redo a table last week that my husband got for me from his Aunt's collection that she didn't want anymore. This table was stained a dark brown and had 2 inserts on the top that had wicker and glass with gold rimming. I never would have used it like that -- but Gayle suggested putting beadboard on top instead, so my Dad got right to work on it. This is what it looks like after I painted and distressed it. I absolutely love it now and am always amazed at what can be done to change the look of a piece of furniture. It makes me smile every time that I walk by it.
Along with all of that, I repainted all of the woodwork in my front porch which includes 12 windows and the front door. Whew!!!
I bet that you think that I didn't work with my scrapbooking supplies at all, but I did. I made 7 projects for the Creative Cafe line. I can show you a couple. One is an idea for some Christmas Gift jars. You can find the supplies and instructions here. I used some Accucut flower and bird dies again. I could use their die cuts on everything -- just love them!
Then I did this Christmas door hanger greeting with some of the Creative Cafe Clear stamps.
So many photos to share today! ;-)
Okay, so I'm off to finish up supper. I have another busy week coming up with more design team projects, so check back later when you can.
Have fun feathering your own nest this fall! Love, Linda
